2010 marks Sacramento’s best in R&B/Funk music, Mercy Me! (Band)’s 16th year performing selections by legendary artists, along with their original music, in the regions of Sacramento, Folsom, the Bay area and Lake Tahoe. In 2005, MMB was honored to perform for the prestigious Black Music Hall of Fame Awards in Omaha, Nebraska. MMB received SAMMIE awards in 2002 and 2005; in the category of “Outstanding Cover/Bar Band”, sponsored by the Sacramento News & Review. In 1999, MMB celebrated the release of their debut CD “Sooner or Later” with rave reviews. Plans are currently in the works for their second CD in the near future. MMB has opened for such legendary performers such as Rachelle Farrell, Najee, 2007; George Duke and other Jazz artists in 2005; the SOS Band, Midnight Star, Zapp, and Confunkshun in 2004; Tower of Power in 2003, Bobby “Blue Bland”, and The Isley Brothers in 1997. They have entertained at various fundraisers and charity organizations with continued support for the American Heart Association, “Blues for the Cure”, the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, Albie Breast Cancer Awareness and Blues For Life Cancer Awareness Organizations. Mercy Me!
